Melissa DuPrey is an Afro-Latina comedian, actor, and playwright from Humboldt Park, Chicago, whose work blends sharp humor with fearless storytelling. A former member of the all-Latina theater collective Teatro Luna, she’s created and toured multiple acclaimed solo shows—including SEXomedy and Good Grief—exploring themes of identity, queerness, liberation, and sexuality. Her comedic voice has taken her to stages nationwide, and her acting credits include Grey’s Anatomy, Empire, The Chi, and Chicago P.D.
Beyond the stage, DuPrey is a cultural curator, wellness advocate, and educator, performing traditional Puerto Rican music with Africaribe and Las BomPleneras while teaching and producing at institutions like Free Street Theater.
